The Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina Announces Partnership with CHAP

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina (AHHC) and Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) are pleased to announce a partnership between the two organizations in the form of an Affinity Agreement which will benefit AHHC of NC members, who provide home care, home health and hospice services in North Carolina. Through this agreement, CHAP will waive 50% of the application fee for a provider seeking initial or renewal accreditation or initial palliative certification with CHAP.
“We fully believe this partnership will benefit providers who are seeking accreditation, whether they are new to the process or renewing. The palliative certification with CHAP is one we believe will be of particular interest to our members, given palliative care’s growing significance within the industry,” said AHHC President and CEO, Tim Rogers. “We are excited to work with Teresa and the team at CHAP in this capacity.”
“I am excited and happy to announce that Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) has entered into an Affinity Agreement with AHHC of NC,” said Teresa Harbour, Senior Vice President of Business Development & Marketing. “I have known Tim Rogers and his team for many years and seen first-hand the advocacy and support AHHC provides to their members.” As a result of this agreement, CHAP will waive 50% of the application fee for members of AHHC seeking initial or renewal accreditation.
CHAP is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body for home and community-based health care organizations. Created in 1965 as a joint venture between the American Public Health Association and the National League for Nursing, CHAP was the first accrediting body for home and community-based organizations in the United States. Through “deeming” authority granted by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), CHAP is a nationally approved accrediting organization who retains authority to survey agencies providing home health, hospice, private duty/homecare, infusion therapy nursing, home medical equipment/durable medical equipment, and pharmacy.
The Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina (AHHC) is a nonprofit trade association representing providers of home health, hospice, palliative care, personal care, private duty nursing and companion/sitter services. The Association was established in 1972 and currently has a membership of over 750 provider agencies and vendors, who provide products and services to providers. AHHC's mission is to provide Resources, Education, Advocacy and Leadership. Services include: technical assistance, monthly newsletters, quality educational programs, annual directory, email alerts, and political lobbying. AHHC strongly advocates for their members and the many patients they serve, and is recognized by colleagues, regulators, and legislators as one of the most active and effective home care and hospice associations in the US.
